Visit Skagen light Denmark The first thing one notices when approaching Skagen, is the bright light. Then you see a magnificent landscape with extensive forests and sand dunes surrounded by sea. 

The mild Kattegat to the rougher Skagerrak meet at the branch. The Skagen painters were the first /Provence?s.

The semi private Nordjyske Jernbaner railway runs between Frederikshavn, interchange with the national railway system, and Skagen.

The Danish rail network is efficient and cover the whole of Denmark from north to south. Fast train from Copenhagen via Odense to Aarhus Aalborg and Frederikshavn, departing several times a day. or Hamburg Aarhus - Aalborg - Frederikshavn, and bus from Frederikshavn to Skagen

Frederikshavn is on the Hjørring, Aalborg, Aarhus, Odense, Roskilde, Copenhagen, Line. It takes approximately 5 hours 50 minnuts to reach Copenhagen. from Frederikshavn  and from Frederikshavn to Skagen aprox. 30 min.

Visit Skagen By Car
The easiest option is following the E45 highway to Frederikshavn and take national road 40 from there. To the port of Hirtshals with ferry connections to Norway, catch road 597 Skagensvej/Hirsthalsvej and make a turn in the village Ålbæk.

Visit Skagen by Air
The journey time by train or bus from Aalborg, the nearest airport  town to the south, is approx. between 1 hr 30 mins - 1 hr 55 mins. (50 minutes in car). From Aalborg Airport to Skagen station is the journey time aprox. 2 hour by bus

Visit Skagen By boat
Bus (30 min) to Frederikshavn wich can be reached by ferry from Norway (Oslo) and Sweden (Gothenburg) and connects Læsø Island to Jutland.
Stena Line operates the route Gothenburg - Frederikshavn which takes 2 hours with Stena Line Express and 3 hours 15 min. with Stena Danica/Jutlandica and the route Oslo - Frederikshavn which takes 12 hours.
Læsø Line operates the route Læsø - Frederikshavn which takes 90 min.

A very popular way of transport in the Skagen area is by bicycle on a distributed net of bicycle paths.
