Skagen is located in Northern Denmark and is Denmark's northernmost town. It is located in
(North Jutland), during
Frederikshavn community and has 8,636 inhabitants
(2010) and is worth a visit.
Skagen is known for Skagen fishing port and is a popular destination for /Provence?s. Thus, Skagen held since 1971 Skagen Festival. In this northern area of Jutland, you can see the sand-covered church and visit the branch that separates from the Skagerrak, the Kattegat.

The easiest option is following the E45 highway to Frederikshavn and take national road 40 from there. To the port of Hirtshals with ferry connections to Norway, catch road 597 Skagensvej/Hirsthalsvej and make a turn in the village Ålbæk.

The journey time by train or bus from Aalborg, the nearest
airport town to the south, is approx. between 1 hr 30 mins - 1 hr 55 mins.

Bus (30 min) to Frederikshavn wich can be reached by ferry from Norway (Oslo) and Sweden (Gothenburg) and connects Læsø Island to Jutland.
Stena Line operates the route Gothenburg - Frederikshavn which takes 2 hours with Stena Line Express and 3 hours 15 min. with Stena Danica/Jutlandica and the route Oslo -
Frederikshavn which takes 12 hours.
