Skibby

Skibby is situated in North Sealand and is a small city in Hornsherred with 3,146 inhabitants (2014). Skibby is located in Frederikssund and belongs to the Capital Region of Denmark.
Skibby was first mentioned in 1240 as a market town in King Valdemar's court roll, but also very little is known about the city's history.

Skibby has a relatively large church dating from 1100, and it is a sign that the city has been of great regional importance. Skibby Church has some of the best preserved frescoes, known internationally. Due Skibbys location in Hornsherred the city has not many foreign /Provence?s, but there are often historical and religious students to see the murals.
